DUNEDOO Merino stud, Langdene, sold rams to a high of $12,000 today.
The stud, owned by Gordon, Sally, Garry and Kelly Cox, offered 120 Merino rams with 116 selling at auction to a gallery of more than 40 buyers.
Rams averaged $2659, selling to buyers from across NSW and a single buyer from Victoria.
The top ram was a 104.5-kilogram son of LD086138 and was purchased by Peter Freeth and son Doug, Glenburn Holdings, Collie.
"He was very thick off the skin and is going to throw lambs that will fill bales," Mr Freeth said.
It had 19.2-micron wool with a standard deviation of 3.4, co-efficient of variation 17.9 and comfort factor of 99 per cent.
The pair also secured the second highest priced ram of the day, a $9500 son of LD110075, which was sashed grand champion fine/medium wool ram at the Dubbo Merino National in 2013.
It was a 112.5kg sire with 17.9-micron wool, SD of 2.8, CV of 15.7 and comfort factor of 99.5pc.
The sale was conducted by Elders with Andy McGeoch at the helm.
