TOTAL auction clearance of 41 bulls topping at $17500 and averaging $6207 was effected for the Job family’s Royalla Shorthorn stud “Top of the Grid” bull sale at Yeoval on Thursday, September 2.
Bulls sold to Queensland, King Island and several regions of the state with Condobolin stud and commercial breeders vying for the higher-priced potential grid-topping sires on offer.
The Ridley family headed by Keith and Vicki, Nero stud, Condobolin, kept the bidding and sale excitement going to $17,500 to secure the 17 month-old Royalla Rory K106, a 676 kilogram son of Futurity Fully Loaded F109 and from Royalla Isobel F200.
Keith Ridley and daughter, Krystelle, who attended the sale, said the rich red structurally sound “Fully Loaded son” would serve as a new outcross for the Nero herd.
Early buying of lots four and five rewarded the Stuckey family of Murtonga Pastoral, Condobolin, with the purchase of two bulls at $12,000 each.
Both were 24 months of age with the first being the 905kg roan Royalla Quessadilla J336 by Royalla Next of Kin and from Royalla Margies Memory 9054M and the next, another roan at 896kg, Royalla Quiver J281 by Bundaleer Fiesta F118 from a Royalla Jessica dam.
Two King Island breeders bought two bulls each with Roger Clemments, Wongie Pastoral Company, “Wongie”, paying a $5000 average while Rod Graham of Rothray Holdings Pty Ltd, paid an average $7000.
The Marriott family, Dilga Station, Cumnock secured four bulls at $4000 each while the Kiss Family Trust, “Meramie”, Wellington, bought three bulls topping at $6000 to average $5000, and Simon and Rachel Cant and family, “Mumblebone”, Warren, also purchased three bulls paying to $6500 to average $4833.
The sale was conducted by Elders Stud Stock and Fountain and Company with Andy McGeoch (Elders) and Tony Fountain sharing auctioneer duties.
