THE stronger cattle market is expected to drive spirited bidding at the northern bull sales given the strong interest at this year's Ausmectin Northern Beef Week open days.
All up, 57 studs in the state's north opened their gates to the public showcasing sale bulls and females to potential clients.
Most studs reported stronger visitor numbers this year, with most saying stronger cattle prices had led to more buyer confidence ahead of the selling season.
Improved seasonal conditions across the New England also led to more visitors, according to stud principals.
NeMonaVille principal Neville Kirkman, Walcha, said his stud had its best open day since the event began in 2004.
"There has been a lot more inquiry for bulls this year," Mr Kirkman said.
"A lot of people are chasing more heifer bulls because people have had to restock with weaner heifers after selling so many cattle through the dry period.
"About half the people who visited us were repeat buyers, but we had a lot of potential new clients as well."
Today marks day four of the event and includes studs predominantly in the Moree, Inverell and Barraba areas.
Meanwhile, visitors are being urged to check for updates on The Land's website or on The Land's Livestock Facebook page due to the rain.
