HUNDREDS of stud and commercial cattle producers from across NSW, Queensland and Victoria have converged on the New England and North West for the 2014 Ausmectin Northern Beef Week.
With more than 65 studs opening their gates, the event, organised by The Land, showcases beef genetics across a range of breeds.
Visitors inspected stud sires, females and progeny and discussed genetics with stud principals.
Some studs are taking the opportunity to hold private sales at their open days, while others are reporting strong interest in upcoming spring sales.
Drought didn't make an impact on numbers, with studs reporting good attendees, on par with previous years.
Tirranna Herefords, Glen Innes, welcomed a steady trickle of visitors at their open day at "Cowdenbeath" and sold six of their sale bulls.

Beef Week is only halfway through, with studs open from Barraba to Narrabri, Coonabarabran and Cowper.
The event ends on Sunday, June 22.
