BIDDING reached $15,000 twice at the annual Curracabark Herefords and Myra Angus bull sale at "Myra", Gloucester on August 1.
In the Herefords, all 22 bulls sold to a top of $1500 and average of $8318.
The top bull, Curracabark Junee J106, sold to Sam Bush, Glenholme Herefords and Kirraweena Herefords, "Glenholme", Cootamundra.
The 22-month-old bull, by Yarram Unique F181 from Curracabark Favourite F68, weighed 796 kilograms, had a scrotal circumference of 39 centimetres and estimated breeding values of +28 for 200-day weight, +48 for 400-day weight and +72 for 600-day weight.
In the Angus sale, all 19 bulls offered sold, topping at $15000 and averaging $6289.
The top bull, Myra Jonderyn J16, was purchased by Tim Vincent, Booragul Angus, "Oakleigh", Piallaway, and James and Ted Laurie, Knowla Livestock, "Knowla", Gloucester.
Weighing 892kg, the 23-month-old bull by Ireland Gapsted G25 from Myra Jedda A010 had a scrotal circumference of 43cm and EBVs of +42 for 200-day weight, +80 for 400-day weight and +111 for 600-day weight.
The sale was conducted by the stud, with Paul Dooley, Tamworth, auctioneering.
