PRICES were firm at the Wodonga store cattle sale on December 4, with both steers and heifers selling well across the board.
"The best of the black steers were up over 230 cents a kilogram," said Livestock agent James Cleeland, Corcoran Parker, Mansfield, Victoria.
"Hereford steers were probably a bit cheaper as they have been, but there were plenty of Hereford steers making from 185c/kg up to 200c/kg."
Weaner steers topped at $830, offered by Graeme and Dawn Macaulay, Huon, Victoria.
The yarding was bigger than expected with over 3000 on offer, the bulk of which were steers.
Cattle were offered from as far as Camerons Corner, Queensland, Carrathool and Hay.
