STRONG bidding from Queensland and New England beef producers led to a top of $13,000 and average of $5092 at the annual Dulverton Angus on-property sale at Shannon Vale Station, Glen Innes, on Monday.
Fifty seven of the 58 bulls offered by Greg and Sally Chappell sold for a clearance of 98 per cent.
Bidding was strong from the start, with the first bull, Dulverton Herbert H008 selling for the top price to Queensland beef producers Glen and Loyola McKinlay, "Callandoon", Springsure.
The two-year-old bull, by TC Franklin from Dulverton Queen F023, weighed 850 kilograms, measured 42cm in scrotal circumference and had estimated breeding values (EBVs) of 53 for 200-day weight, 94 for 400-day weight and 125 for 600-day weight.
