MYERS Lady Luck proved true to her name today winning the Urquhart Trophy for supreme beef exhibit - the first time a Limousin has won since its inception in 1999.
Exhibited by Scott Myers and Samantha Beresford, (pictured) Myers Limousins, Moss Vale, the senior and grand champion Limousin cow was placed on top by the three judges.
Tom Baker, Woonallee Simmentals, SA, Andrew Raff, Raff Angus, Qld, and Brooke Rayner, Grathlyn Poll Herefords, NSW, said the cow moved well, was doing an outstanding job on her calf and had good muscling.
Myers Lady Luck was interbreed junior female at the Melbourne Royal in 2013, and now has a bull calf at foot.
Mr Myers said they were honoured to have won the award, and they would be using their winnings to invest in more genetics.
The black polled cow beat champion beef bull Wollumbi Hi Star H53, a junior Red Angus bull, for the trophy.
More to come.
