ROSS and Dimity Thompson’s Millah Murrah bull sale at Bathurst was nothing short of electric today, setting a new record top price for an on-property Angus bull sale of $150,000.
The record breaker was Millah Murrah Tex K35 and the bull sold to a syndicate of renowned Australian Angus studs.
Tex was an embryo transfer bred calf by Hingaia 469 and from Millah Murrah Flower G41.
Born on January 29, 2014, the 19-month-old bull already weighed 862 kilograms and measured a whopping scrotal circumference of 44 centimetres, and had 200-, 400- and 600-day weight estimated breeding values of +42, +81 and +109.
Tex also had an eye muscle area EBV of +5.6.
Another lot, Millah Murrah Tex K20, hit $26,000, and Millah Murrah Emperor J249 sold for $24,000.
The Land’s Struan Pearce is tweeting from the sale and will also have a full report in next week’s The Land.
