THE Fuller family and their team at Pine Creek Angus Stud Pty Ltd had good reason to crack open a celebratory drink after the Angus judging following their senior female entry, PC Miss Shiraz H449, taking out best Angus exhibit.
This was one of several champion ribbons the stud cleaned up, despite interruptions to their show preparation from their move during 2013 from Bylong to Cowra.
"Our biggest thing was that we moved in December and probably didn't start early enough and weren't quite set up for it, but we got them here and we made it. A bit harder than usual, but it happened," said Greg Fuller of Pine Creek.
Miss Shiraz, which is co-owned with Richard Hassell and Rachael Wyllie, Brailes Investments, Banbury, UK, was by Canadian sire HF Tiger 5T and from PC Miss Stockman E182 and came to Sydney with an already enviable show career.
Miss Shiraz was a calf at foot on Miss Stockman in 2012 when she took out grand champion Angus female and interbreed female at Melbourne and then reserve grand at Brisbane.
Shiraz returned to Sydney last year to win junior champion female and the junior interbreed.
"That Canadian line out of Hamilton Farms in Canada (which includes HF Kodiak, Tiger and Tigre) has really worked well for us... the main crop of bulls will hit the bull sale this year," Mr Fuller said.
Tiger was the winner of the 2009 World Angus forum in Canada.
