TEXAS Angus bulls sold to a top of $14,000 at the 46th annual sale at "Doongara", Warialda on Thursday.
Eighty four the 104 bulls offered by Ben and Wendy Mayne sold for an average of $4065 and clearance of 81 per cent.
There was strong competition from Queensland beef producers, with 28 bulls going to Springsure, Goondiwindi, St George, Nebo and Redland Bay.
The top bull went to South Australian buyer Colin Flanagan, "Granite Ridge", Avenue Range, who purchased Texas Western Express H369.
The 22-month-old bull, by Bangadang Western Express E10 from Texas Undine Z183, weighed 954 kilograms, measured 41cm in the scrotum and had estimated breeding values (EBVs) of 53 for 200-day weight, 93 for 400-day weight and 126 for 600-day weight.
