THE Manchee family celebrated 21 years of selling bulls with a top of $28,000 and average of $8882 at the annual Yamburgan Shorthorns production sale at "Wallah", Narrabri, on Wednesday.
John and Liz Manchee sold all 85 bulls, who went to clients in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
The top bull, Yamburgan Emperor J396, by Yamburgan Emperor E103 from Yamburgan Adela B243, sold to Malcolm Smith, Picton.
The 23-month-old bull weighed 926 kilograms, had a scrotal circumference of 43.5 centimetres, an eye muscle area of 128 square centimetres and intramuscular fat of six per cent.
He measured 17mm and 10mm in rump and rib fat, and had estimated breeding values of +2.9 for birthweight, +32 for 200-day weight, +49 for 400-day weight, and +68 for 600-day weight.
The volume buyer was repeat client Stuart Brownlie, "Deepwater", Meandarra, who purchased eight bulls for an average of $12,125.
The sale was conducted by Hamilton Mortimer Agency, Narrabri and Landmark Narrabri with Paul Dooley, Tamworth, auctioneering.
