THREE consecutive Sydney Royal Show Hordern Trophy wins have established Red Angus as the breed to beat in the show ring.
And breeders aren't being shy about sharing the winning genetics around, with both studs involved in this year's Hordern win offering cattle at the Red Angus National Show and Sale in Dubbo this month.
Part of all three of the best pair of breed grand champions wins, the Issepi family's GK Livestock, Dalby, Queensland, will return to the sale, as will the other half of this year's pair, Wollumbi Red Angus, Marulan.
And while GK achieved the second-highest price of $12,500 last year, all eyes will this year be on Wollumbi Hi Star H53, offered by Peter Weiss and David Croker - the interbreed beef bull of the Sydney Show in April.
Hi Star will be one of 37 bulls to be offered, along with 13 females and 13 genetic packages, at the breed's national show and sale to be held on Wednesday, June 25.
Sale lots will be judged by Christie Kennedy, Pine Creek Angus, Cowra, and associate Aimee Bolton, Bolton Girls Red Angus, Congupna, Victoria, and get underway at 8.30am.
Mrs Kennedy, from the Pine Creek and Black Diamond Angus studs, now based at Cowra, has a long affiliation with the beef stud stock industry, and has previously judged the 2013 Canada Farmfair Legends of the Fall interbreed heifer competition.
The sale, to be conducted by Landmark Stud Stock, will start at 1pm.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Red Angus Society of Australia annual general meeting and annual dinner, beginning at 3.30pm and 7pm respectively on Tuesday, June 24.
In 2013, 18 of 36 led and unled bulls sold to a top price of $13,000 and averaged $5667, while 10 of 16 stud females topped at $5000 and averaged $3300.
A calf-at-foot to the interbreed champion female at Beef 2012, Bolton Girls Grenade G4 made the top money in 2013, selling to a two property partnership.
Berry Reynolds, IBR Red Angus, Toowoomba, Queensland, and Richard and Kate Shaw, "Ox Hill", Bell, Qld, paid the $13,000 price tag to vendors WD Cattle Company, Holbrook, and Bolton Girls Red Angus, Congupna, Vic.
BST Tullatoola, Molong, won the grand champion bull of the event last year with BST Tullatoola Sakic G64, a 23-month-old senior bull by Six Mile Sakic 8325.
Sakic went on to be purchased by Victorian stud breeders Robert and Sandra Boote, Boote Hill stud, Drouin South.
New vendors this year include Annette Walker and Noel Gnaden, Raedean, Buln Buln, Vic, and promotion animal donators the Cowcher family, Willandra, Williams, WA.
