THE Halliday family was pretty confident they were going to come out on top when they entered the Angus supreme exhibit judging at the Canberra Show on Friday.
Their stud, J and C Angus, Wildes Meadow, exhibited the grand champion Angus female and the grand champion Angus bull before the two stud mates went head to head for the top award.
The bull, JC Jester J25, was the eventual winner, as judged by Diana Wood, Coonamble.
Ms Woods described the bull as having a lot of depth, a lot of capacity and the ability to carry the weight well.
The rising two year old bull bet the 2.5 year old cow JC Cheyenne, that had a three month old heifer calf at foot.
Ms Wood said the cow had growth without being extreme and would produce progeny with functionality.
