A HEFTY 12-month-old Limousin bull, Birubi Knightime K1, has cleaned up the champion of champions interbreed award at this year's Royal Canberra Show.
The Landmark-sponsored interbreed judging came down to a face-off between the 561 kilogram junior bull and the interbreed champion female, an Angus cow exhibited by J. and C. Angus, Wildes Meadow.
Knightime, exhibited by Starr Limousins, Thuddungra, had earlier been champion in the Limousin feature breed showing before being sashed supreme interbreed champion bull, which qualified it for the champion of champions contest.
The son of Wulfs Xcellsior was led by Charna Starr, Starr Limousins.
Her husband, Tony Starr (pictured with Charna and Knightime), had purchased the youngster on its dam Birubi Hi Life H3 at the 2014 Limousin National Show and Sale from Birubi Limousins, Wagga Wagga.
He said based on the bull's breeding, he had hoped the bull would turn out just like it had.
J. and C. Angus' exhibit which took out the supreme interbred female was the 21/2-year-old J. and C. Cheyenne, and was exhibited with a three-month-old heifer calf.
