GOODOOGA is Northern NSW will look like a scene from The Block when a team of Sydney tradies turn up to rescue drought-affected farms.
Just like the reality show which fixes up houses and apartment blocks, the team at Buy a Bale wanted to help fix up farms in dire need of repair.
Two big farm rescues are already planned for the end of November at Goodooga where a busload of tradies, including electricians, builders and mechanics, will travel from Sydney.
"This has been in the pipeline for about two months now - the farmers have already been chosen to undergo the rescue," Buy a Bale operations manager Brad Butcher said.
"We're going to organise 110 tradies and volunteers and all their supplies and tools to go fix up these farms.
"We're not just talking about painting or fencing though, we're fixing infrastructure that will allow farmers to earn an income."
Fixing bulldozers and motorbikes that would otherwise be left to rust due to the price of repairs and supplying the manpower needed to put that engine back in the truck are some of the things planned for the week-long renovations.
The renovations will run from November 22 to 28 at Goodooga, near Lightning Ridge, with an "end of rescue party" to be held at the weekend getting the whole community together.
"There will be a second one at Dunkeld, south of Mitchell in Queensland following that where we will get tradies out of Brisbane."
The Dunkeld farm rescues will run from December 1 to 6.
"Every skill is needed some way in the bush so we're asking people any skill to register."
