WESTPAC'S Innovation Challenge is offering a $40,000 cash prize to support one entrepreneur realise their idea.
The idea must be a digital solution to help Australia’s agribusiness sector grow.
Speaking at the Future Farmers Network’s Youth Ag Council event in Canberra today, Westpac’s head of agribusiness Susan Bower encouraged young farmers to apply.
“You might be an agricultural start-up or a budding entrepreneur with a great idea in the back of your mind… whatever the case may be, please have a go,” Ms Bower said.
“As well as winning $40,000 you will have access to the Westpac Innovation team who can help you drive your idea and bring it to fruition.”
The winner will also receive a six-month placement at Blue-Chilli, a company which supports entrepreneurs, in their start-up accelerator program.
The competition is open to entrants outside of the agriculture sector. Applications close on Sunday, August 2.
“There’s still time to apply so tell all of our friends,” Ms Bower said.
