ORGANISERS of the second Clarence Valley Country Muster from October 27 to November 3 are giving away 500 CDs featuring tracks from 17 performers at the muster.
Muster acts for 2014 include Roll of Honour member Terry Gordon OAM, Lindsay Waddington, Glenn Jones, Patty Morgan, Marge Graham, the Kross Kut Showband, Ged and Trody Hinze, Dave Prior and Ray Essery.
The second Clarence Valley Country Muster will also be the stage for the release of the new album by Grafton-based band Suburban Country and feature Poets' Breakfasts during the three main days from 7.30 to 9.30am.
Chief organiser Wendy Gordon, who runs the muster on her property at Calliope just north-east of Grafton, is looking forward to opening her farm gates to the biggest country music festival crowd ever seen in these parts.
“We can fit 550 caravans on the site,” Wendy said.
“Apart from the music, the muster will serve up meat and vegetables grown in a district regarded as a leader in agricultural produce for well over a century.”
Walk-up artists at the festival will be strumming for a $2000 recording package from Kross Kut Records. Proceeds from raffles over the muster will go to
Camp Quality – an organisation looking after the needs of children with life threatening illnesses.
Prizes include three days of relaxation at the nearby Pillar Rock farm stay centre, a $500 shopping voucher from Coles and much more.
Country music fans from across Australia have been hitting the muster website in their thousands and Wendy Gordon's phone has been running hot.
“The muster is held at the same time as Grafton's famed Jacaranda Festival and that's a big plus for us,” Wendy said. “But the festival is standing on its own two
feet and the only way from here, is up.”
