JOIN us at www.theland.com.au today at 2pm when you can put your questions about alcohol and drug use to an expert panel.
Our panel will address how to talk to someone you’re concerned about and how alcohol and other drugs relate to mental health.
Panelists will include Associate Professor Anthony Shakeshaft from the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre which works on research to increase the effectiveness of treatment and other intervention responses to alcohol and other drugs.
Also on the panel will be Geoff Munro and Cindy Van Rooy from the Australian Drug Foundation which has initiated The Other Talk campaign designed to get Australian families talking openly about alcohol and drugs, and Deryk Slater, a senior psychologist with the NSW Western Local Health District.
Held on the first Friday of each month, the Friday Forum on mental health is a joint initiative of The Land, the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and NSW Farmers.
The Land’s editor Sally White said the forums were designed to give readers access to a range of mental health and health professionals without leaving the farm or making the trek to a major centre.
The forum kicks off at 2pm on The Land’s website www.theland.com.au
