APPLICATIONS for the 2015 Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Rural Achiever Award close December 15.
The award offers opportunities for professional development to the new generation of agriculture enthusiasts and the chance to make contacts and network with agricultural industry leaders.
The RAS Rural Achiever Award is a state-wide leadership program open to young men and women aged 20 to 29, living and working in NSW.
The award recognises future young leaders who are working hard to make a significant contribution to their local community and to rural Australia.
This year's NSW Rural Ambassador was Samuel Martin, Walcha.
Samuel's fellow Rural Achievers this year were: Brodie Argue, Wagga Wagga; Rowan Bromfield, Ariah Park; Georgia Clark, Wyee Point; Joshua Gilbert, Nabiac; Kate Molloy, Yenda; Alexandra Murray, Young, and Marilyn Terlich, Pleasant Hills.
As well as the opportunity for personal development and the chance to make great contacts and network with industry leaders, the eight chosen 2015 finalists all receive: a share in $17,000 prize money from The Land and the RAS, an all-expenses paid, behind the scenes experience at the Sydney Royal, nine days accommodation at Sydney Olympic Park, a 12-month complimentary RAS membership, and an official Rural Achiever uniform and Akubra hat.
