REPEAT buyers eager to purchase Lucky Downs Dohne bloodlines paid to $1100 at their on-property sale at Lewis Ponds via Orange on Friday.
The Helmsman sale had a 50 per cent clearance, selling 15 of 30 rams offered by Shayne and Bayden White and their father, Andrew, to average $833.
Buyer of the sale-top, Colin McPhee, Rockley Mount, via Bathurst, returned for a seventh year to secure four rams for an average of $875.
The $1100 ram had Australian sheep breeding value (ASBV) figures of 4.58 kilograms for yearling weight and 10.9 per cent for yearling clean fleece weight.
"I liked the size and style of this ram, his frame impressed me," Mr McPhee said of the sale-topper.
Mr McPhee had diversified from Merinos and now runs 3000 Dohne and Dohne infused ewes, plus another 1000 ewes joined to White Suffolk rams for prime lamb production.
