THE White family “Bald Blair”, Guyra, recorded a high of $14,000 at their 42nd Bald Blair Angus on-property bull sale yesterday (Tuesday).
Fifty-four of the 63 bulls offered sold to an average of $4185; a clearance rate of 86 per cent.
In the breakdown, all four of the yearling bulls offered sold, topping at $9500 to the Walmsley family, Glen Innes, and averaged $4875.
Rising two-year-old bulls averaged $4214 for 49 of the 59 offered.
First time buyers, brothers James and Sandy Higgens, Myra Angus, Gloucester, purchased the top price bull for $14,000.
The two-year-old bull, Bald Blair Frederick H253, was by NOR F Rennyleigh F65 from Bald Blair F80, weighed 812 kilograms with a scrotal circumference of 45.5cm.
The bull exhibited Breedplan figures of +3.6 for birth weight, +1.1 for rib and +1.0 on the rump.
Stud principle Sam White said he was delighted with the sale result.
"We offered six or more bulls than the prior year in the draft we offered, but we sold just as many as last year and I think to do that in a tight year is a good result," Mr White said.
