THE Cascade Poll Hereford and Angus bull sale kicked off the northern run with an $8500 high at the on-property sale near Currabubula yesterday.
Of the 27 two-year-old Poll Hereford bulls offered, 23 sold to a top of $8500 and average of $4718, while six of the junior Poll Hereford bulls sold from 10 to top at $8000 and a $4000 average.
In the Angus, 27 two-year old bulls sold from 33 to top at $6500 and average $4093, and one of the four junior bulls sold for $3000.
Purchaser of $8500 Cascade Hefty H120 was John McNeil, Windaradeen Corporation, Eringoarrah Station, Wantabadgery.
Elders Dubbo stud stock representative Josh Crosby secured the top priced junior Poll Hereford bull, Cascade Jarrett J17, for South Australian stud Kerlson Pines Poll Herefords.
In the Angus, Gunnedah breeders Kibah Pastoral Co secured Cascade Harvest H65 for $6500.
Volume buyers for the Angus were Goonoo Goonoo Pastoral Company, Quirindi, who secured five bulls to top at $6000 for 23-month old Texas Grid Maker son and average $4500.
