Dance Angus to $8000 high

After relocating from Millmerran, Queensland, in December 2014, David and Christine Dance and family offered their first draft of bulls south of the border, selling 47 Angus bulls through the ring to average $4520

Dance Emperor 343 J198 was the first of the $8000 bulls selling to Tom O'Brien, "Pineview", Bundarra.

The Te Mania Emperor E343 son from a New Design female, Double D NewDesign V1035 Z13, weighed 920 kilograms and measured a scrotal circumference of 44 centimetres.

A Connearly Consensus son, Dance Consensus 7229 J204, was the second to hit the $8000 mark.

Purchased by local Angus producer John Landers "Crossmaglen", Glen Innes, the 24-month old was also from Double D New Design V1035 Z13.

After purchasing heifers from Dance earlier in the year, Mr Landers was after a quiet bull for joining season.

Andrew Winks, "Woolerina", Bollon, Qld, paid $8000 for Dance Explosive E108 J268, a Raff Explosive Son out of a New Design female, Double D Casper B158.

Mr Winks, who was buying Angus bulls for the first time, secured seven to average $4286.

After witnessing Angus infused cattle perform better in his own feedlot operation, Mr Winks decided to invest in Angus bulls to join to his Santa/Hereford females.

Rounding out the $8000 sale toppers was the first of the 17-month olds to be offered Dance Rito 9969 K18, purchased by loyal Qld clients, Max and Lucille Graham, "Retreat", Goondiwindi.

Sired by RITO 9969 and out of a Lawsons Henry daughter, Dance Henry D225, the young sire weighed 734kg and measured a scrotal of 44cm.

The Grahams also secured a Te Mania Emperor son for $7000 and a Total Impact son for $3000 on the day.

Christine and David Dance were pleased with their first sale at their new home base.

"We have had wonderful support from local producers and cherish our Qld client base who followed and supported us," Mrs Dance said.

The sale was settled by Frame Rural Agencies, Inverell with Paul Dooley, Tamworth as guest auctioneer.
