BIDDING reached a top of $15,000 at the Dulverton Angus bull sale at Shannon Vale Station, Glen Innes, on Monday.
All 69 bulls sold for an average of $6442.
Victorian stud producer Mark Gubbins, Coolana Angus, "Coolana", Chatsworth, bought the top-priced bull, Dulverton Jackpot J267, with Dick Whale, Independent Breeding and Marketing Services, Wangaratta, Victoria, representing the stud at the sale.
The bull, by Booroomooka Frankel F510 from Dulverton Dell B112, weighed 827 kilograms, had a scrotal circumference of 42 centimetres, and estimated breeding values of +57 for 200-day weight +98 for 400-day weight, +139 for 600-day weight and +5.5 for eye muscle area.
The volume buyers were Bruce Harris, "Avondale", Rowena, and Simon and Jenny Gregson, "Ottley", Graman, who purchased 17 bulls averaging $3588.
The sale was conducted by Colin Say and Co, Glen Innes, with Craig Thomas auctioneering.
