A TOTAL clearance and top of $14,000 helped make Wednesday's Kansas Angus bull sale at Boggabri one of their strongest to date.
Rob and Pam Crosby cleared all 62 of the yearling and teenage bulls offered to average $6509.
Fifty registered buyers from across NSW and QLD, filled the stands pushing 15 bulls above $8000.
The $14,000 top was purchased by return clients John and Caroline Chappell "Bridgewater", Dundee.
Kansas Gothenbeeg K17, a Te Mania Gothenberg G950 son out of Kansas Dianna G119, caught the eye of Mr Chappell both in and out of the catalogue.
"He is a beautifully muscled bull, terrific growth, excellent marbling, very structurally sound" explained Mr Chappell when asked to describe his new herd sire.
The 18-month old bull weighed 818 kilograms and measured estimated breeding values (EBVs) of +5.1 for birthweight, 600-day of + 113, scrotal size of + 1.5, an eye muscle area (EMA) of + 3.1 and an intramuscular fat (IMF) in the top 5 per cent at +3.4.
