RETURN buyers dominated bidding and ram selection during the 14th annual Marocara Poll Dorset Ram Sale at Wongarbon on Tuesday, September 2.
Operated by John and Margaret Kelly with sons Angus and Alistair and their families, the sale resulted in a total clearance of 138 rams topping at $2000 and averaging $1112, some $21 a head up on last year’s average, plus an extra 15 rams sold more than last year.
Top-lot at $2000 was the heaviest ram in the sale catalogue at 135 kilograms from the autumn 2013 drop list, purchased by Peter Carter for his Umagarlee Poll Dorset stud, Wellington.
