SEVENBARDOT Poll Herefords topped at $30,000 and averaged an impressive $6916, today Friday September 11, at "Widelmar", Bylong which is now the new home of the Gunn Family.
Selling to four states and one territory, this year's top price was a cracking $15,000 more than what was achieved last year.
Cooma Hereford breeder Pam Shelley, Kaludah Herefords made the trip to the Bylong Valley to purchase the top priced bull Sevenbardot Flynn J286.
He was described as the complete package, with very good muscle expression, head and skin.
The two year old bull tipped the scales at 950 kilograms, and was a son of Minlacowie Flying Doctor.
The second top price of $16,000 was achieved twice first for Sevenbardot Fortress J272 who sold to Steven Cadzow, Mount Riddock Station, Alice Springs, Northern Territory,.
Then for Sevenbardot Equator J228 which was sold to Andrew and Carolyn Mackay, Merawah Poll Herefords, Boggabilla.
The bidding was spirited with nine bulls achieving over $10,000.
Volume buyers were on fire throughout the sale with Mr Cadzow taking home nine bulls to top $16,000 and averaged $6888 while the Poulsen family, "Wongalee", Dirranbandi secured six bulls to top at $14,000 and averaged $6166.
Principal Jim Gunn said this year they had a lot of good bulls.
"The sale went well and it was good to sell back into two studs," he said.
The sale was conducted by Elders Pastoral, Mudgee and Landmark Townsend, Scone with Paul Dooley, Paul Dooley Pty Ltd, Tamworth auctioneering.
