A MERRYVILLE ram from the six teeth and over, March shorn, class took out the grand champion fine/medium wool Merino ram award at the Sydney Royal Show Merino competition.
The Merryville ram, exhibited by the Boorowa stud owned by the Merriman family, took out the champion March shorn on its way to the top.
The ram tested 18.8 micron, 3.0 micron standard deviation (SD), 16 per cent co-efficient of variation (CV) and 99.4 comfort factor (CF).
Reserve to the grand was a Cox family, Langdene stud, Dunedoo, exhibit from the August shorn not showing more than two permanent teeth class.
It won champion fine/medium wool August shorn ram, reserve junior champion August shorn ram and reserve champion August shorn Merino ram.
The ram tested 19.4 micron, 2.8 SD, 14.4pc CV and 99.7 CF.
The grand champion fine/medium Merino ewe was awarded to a Langdene August shorn ewe not showing more than two permanent teeth.
It was also awarded champion fine/medium wool August shorn ewe, junior champion August shorn ewe and champion August shorn Merino ewe.
The ewe tested 18.2 micron, 2.5 SD, 13.7pc CV and 99.9 CF.
The reserve grand champion ewe went to an August shorn ewe not showing more than four teeth exhibited by the Roseville Park stud, Dubbo.
It went on to be the reserve champion fine/medium wool August shorn ewe.
It tested 17.1 micron, 2.5 SD, 14.6pc CV and 100 CF.
