WHITE Suffolk ewe judging went all NSW’s way this morning at the Bendigo Elite show in Victoria.
Judge Anthony Hurst, Seriston White Suffolks, Lucindale, South Australia, sashed a junior exhibit from the Rene stud, Culcairn, as the grand champion ewe.
Rene 428 was a September-2013 drop ewe weighing 85.5 kilograms with 10 millimetres of fat and a 46mm muscle scan, was described as a “red meat machine” by judge Hurst.
The junior ewe was put up over a senior ewe exhibited by Ashbank stud, Dubbo.
Ashbank 24 weighed 110kg, had 13mm of muscle and was by Ashbank 26/11 – a ram that was sashed supreme exhibit at the same show in 2012.
