Charlie Brumpton from Queensland has taken out the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies National Merino Sheep Young Judges Championship at the Sydney Royal.
Mr Brumpton, from Mitchell, Qld, followed in the footsteps of his sister Felicity, who won the event last year.
Charlie and Felicity run Jolly Jumbuck Poll Merino stud brother Lachie, while their parents Nigel and Rosemary run Mount Ascot Merinos.
Mr Brumpton said he was excited about the win.
“I’m pretty proud to win, it’s a god judging competition,” he said.
Merinos have always been apart of his life and he encouraged other young people to continue on in the agriculture industry.
“It’s good fun and it’s got a good future.”
Reserve champion in the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies National Merino Sheep Young Judges Championship went to Victoria’s Ben Hartwick and third place went to Lachlan Hunter, who represented Western Australia.
