AVERAGE prices were up at the 29th annual Darriwell Merino stud ram sale on Monday.
In a total auction clearance 120 rams topped at $8000 and averaged $1783 at the sale.
The average is up $551 on last year's sale which cleared 114 rams.
Stud principal, Russell J ones was delighted with the result saying he really appreciated established clients' continual support of Darriwell rams and thanked new buyers for their choices.
Sale topper was an autumn 2013 drop 18.2 micron ram which achieved championship status at local shows and was runner- up in the Midstate Premier Hogget Ram class at the recent Dubbo Merino National show and sale.
He was purchased by Robert Kingston, Lowanna stud, Eugowra, who said he judged the ram at Trundle show and reckoned it was alright then, so followed it to this sale.
Top-priced Poll Merino ram at $4000 was also an autumn drop bought by Mal MacInnes, "Warringa", Dubbo.
