RAMS sold to a top of $8500 and averaged $2757 at the Armidale Housed Sale on Wednesday.
The sale cleared 79 per cent of rams, selling 53 of the 67 which were offered by 23 studs.
Rams from Nerstane, Hillcrestong Park, Conrayn, Merryville, Merryville, Alfoxton, Bocoble, Demondrille, Airlie, Kurrajong Park, Westbale, Shalimar Park, Waverley Downs, Glanna, Pomanara, Stanley Vale, Grathlyn, Queenlee, Glenbrook, Maister's Swamp, Whyworry Park, Emoh Ruo, Deeargee and Coddington Pool studs were sold in the housed sale.
Superfine woolgrowers Tony and Janet Gall, "Wilson's Creek", Uralla, picked up the top-priced ram, from Armidale stud Alfoxton Merinos, for $8500.
Weighing 131 kilograms, the ram had a fibre diameter of 17.4-micron, a standard deviation (SD) of 2.8-micron, a co-efficient variation (CV) of 16.1pc and comfort factor (CF) of 99.9pc.
