A HEREFORD bull sold for the world record price of $600,000 in Bruneau, Idaho, US, on Monday.
C Miles McKee 2103 ET, sold by Colyer Herefords at its annual production sale, was purchased by the Miles McKee Syndicate at Dunlap, Iowa.
The syndicate is rumoured to include some of the high players in America's show cattle scene.
By NJW 98S R117 Ribeye 88X and from C Notice Me, the bull was the grand champion Hereford bull at the Fort Worth Stock Show earlier this year and seven full brothers were also offered in the sale.
Its full brother, Stockman, sold to Argentina in Colyer's autumn 2012 sale.
The same sale featured three full sisters to C Miles McKee which averaged just under $30,000.
The previous world record price was $301,000 for a half share in Le Grand Domino 7184, set in 1980.
