A FATAL accident on the Hume Highway near Tarcutta overnight is the latest in a spate of tragic accidents around NSW regional areas this week.
One truck driver died at the scene of the wreckage and another is in hospital after two north-bound semi-trailers crashed just after 2.30am.
Diversions are in place via the Tumbarumba Road and the Sturt Highway and those travelling should expect 40 minute delays.
A semi-trailer was also involved in a crash that killed two people south of Coonabarabran on Monday night.
The crash happened Newell Highway shortly before 10pm, about 10 kilometres south of the town.
Police from Mudgee Local Area Command were told two people travelling by car were struck by the semi-trailer while doing a U-turn.
The male driver died at the scene; his female passenger died a short time later in Coonabarabran Hospital.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted for almost eight hours.
Police are also investigating a crash that occurred in Molong on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old learner driver was driving a Ford Laser on Shades Creek Road, with her 39-year-old mother in the passenger's seat when their vehicle collided with a Subaru Outback containing a woman, one-year-old and a newborn.
The two occupants of the Ford died at the scene, while the woman and children in the Subaru were not injured.
