PEAK grower body WoolProducers Australia has announced the results of its biennial election for independent directors at its annual general meeting yesterday.
Steve Harrison, Giffard West, Victoria; Charlie Merriman, Boorowa, NSW; and Max Watts, Wandering, Western Australia, were all re-elected.
NSW grower Jamie Rowe was unsuccessful in his nomination for the WoolProducers board in an extremely close election.
Office bearer positions for WoolProducers Australia were also determined with president Richard Halliday; senior vice president Edward Storey; and treasurer Jim McKenzie all elected unopposed.
WoolProducers Australia president Richard Halliday thanked Mr Rowe for his nomination.
"This is the first contested WPA election since 2009 and it was great to have four candidates of such a high calibre putting their hand up," he said.
"We thank Mr Rowe for his interest and wish him well in his future endeavours, we also look forward to continuing working with him in his role of president as the Livestock Contractors Association."
