FUTURE Farmers Network (FFN) chair Georgie Aley has welcomed delegates to the 2015 Young Beef Producers Forum (YPBF), urging upcoming leaders to capitalise on the industry’s “exciting” position.
In an opening address, Ms Aley challenged delegates to consider how they would take advantage of beef being the box seat – the focus of this year’s forum.
She encouraged them to use the tools and resources discussed at YBPF to determine how they would position themselves “to drive the opportunities” in beef.
Held at Roma annually, this is the eleventh YBPF hosted by the FFN.
The two-day program includes a range of speakers including Ben Lyons of Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise, Ben Thomas of Meat & Livestock Australia, Sam Becker of AgForce, Kerry Goodwin from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Peta Ward from Westpac Agribusiness.
The FFN annual general meeting will be held this afternoon.
