NEXT week graziers seeking top quality finishing country will have a very good option in the form of "Red Hill", a 117 hectare (289ac) property near Glen Innes.
"Red Hill" is owned by Scotland-based Bruce and Heather Dixon, who are selling given commitments at home, but has been leased by John and Donna Kempton for over 14 years.
Mr Kempton said that in the time he has been on the property fences had been improved, fertiliser applied and more dams added.
The property has been running up to 200 Hereford Shorthorn cross weaner heifers.
Mr Kempton, who also runs cattle on four other properties in the area, said the heifers were joined at 14 months and moved to another property at 20 months.
He said "Red Hill" represented high productivity and had a nice mix of soil types including red and chocolate basalts through to granite loams.
"Red Hill" is 24 kilometres from Glen Innes, and goes to auction on December 4 through Geoff Hayes, Elders Glen Innes.
Mr Kempton said the property would be a good option for coastal graziers looking for good finishing country.
"Red Hill" has Yarrow River frontage, steel cattle yards, a machinery shed and shearing shed and a three bedroom house of brick construction.
