THERE are only a few days left to nominate a little ripper for Wagga Wagga’s Australia Day awards.
Wagga Wagga City Council and the Australia Day Community Committee are looking for locals that deserve legend status, with nominations closing on Friday.
Wagga Wagga City council event co-ordinator Karly Pieper said they had already received some worthy nominations.
“But with so many unsung heroes in Wagga we want to make sure no one misses out,” she said.
“Whether they’re a tireless community advocate or long-serving volunteer, they all deserve legend status.
“Community groups and residents are encouraged to step up and nominate our everyday champions who have given selflessly to the community for many years.”
Nominations for 2016 Australia Day Awards can be made for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (27 and younger), Walk of Honour Award and the Ted Ryder Sports Memorial Award for contribution to dministration in sport.
