A TRIP to New Zealand has paid dividends for Sarah Nesbitt of Cooma.
Miss Nesbitt earned the right to compete at the prestigious Canterbury A&P Show after having success at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The former St Paul’s College student has an excellent grounding in several events.
At the show she won champion beef parader.
Miss Nesbitt said this competition was scrutinised by an American judge from Nebraska.
For her efforts she will now have her name inscribed on the perpetual Goodall Family Herdsperson Challenge Trophy.
Miss Nesbitt competed in both dairy and beef judging, and showing sections at Canterbury.
Her trip across the Tasman followed on from Sydney Royal Easter Show earlier this year and it caps of an extremely successful year.
During the visit she was representing the Agricultural Societies Council.
She completed her year 12 studies and has been working hard on her Curragindi Charolais Stud.
“It was a really good experience … but the atmosphere is a lot different to the shows in Australia,” she said.
Miss Nesbitt said the seven-day trip was extremely valuable in furthering her experience in the agricultural industry.
“I have extend my skills and made lifelong contacts in New Zealand,” she said.
