FIRST-CROSS ewes cracked the $200 mark at the Temora annual sale this afternoon where bidding peaked at $206.
The Limbrick brothers, Malcolm and Graham, from Grong Grong, paid the best money $206 for 459 first-cross ewes bred by Col Harper, "Taravale", Ariah Park.
The July 2013-drop ewes were June shorn and by Cadell Border Leicester rams and from Kardinia Dohne ewes.
The next best price- $202- was paid by Brendan Foster, "Golan Vale", Mirrool, for 132 ewes bred by Rob Grant, "Glenerrol", Temora.
Several other top quality lines sold from $180 to $196.
Woolly ewes (February shorn) eased and hovered around the $155 to $165 range.
There were about 5000 ewes yarded.
