HUNDREDS of young women across the State have entered local showgirl competitions organised by their show society, and of these just 16 will be selected following zone final judging rounds across the State for the final to be held in Sydney in April during Sydney Royal.

This year's winner will take home $10,000, courtesy of The Land and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), while the runner up wins $5000, courtesy of the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW (ASC), and the second runner up, $2500, courtesy of the RAS.
The 16 young women who win a place in the Sydney final will receive an all-expenses paid week in Sydney, with accommodation at Accor group's Ibis Hotel at Homebush, as well as a gift voucher from Birdsnest, valued at $200, and a shirt from Thomas Cook Clothing.
During their week in the city the young women will attend a number of functions, both on the showground and at other venues across the city.

These event will include: a welcome lunch hosted by the RAS, the Excellence in Agriculture Day ceremony and dinner hosted by the RAS, a cocktail function hosted by The Land, dinner hosted by the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW, a Government House reception, and visits to Westmead Children's Hospital and The Land's head office at North Richmond.

The winners will be announced during a special presentation ceremony on Sunday, April 13, in the Amphitheatre at the showground.
The 2014 The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl will be sashed by the 2013 winner and former Dubbo Showgirl, Kennedy Tourle.
Seven zone finals will be staged between February 1 and March 15 at Taree, Milton, Crookwell, Barraba, Rylstone-Kandos, Warren and Griffith.
