TODAY'S Rennylea Angus sale at Culcairn topped at $25,000 for Rennylea H57.
Sired by Te Mania Ecard E83, H57 was a heifer's first calf and had estimated breeding values in the top one per cent of the Angus breed for gestation length and eye muscle area, as well as Long Fed/CAAB, Heavy Grass Fed and Short Fed $indices in the top 1pc.
This was coupled with EBVs in the top 5pc for growth, carcass and intramuscular fat.
The bull was bought by John and Catherine Braddock, "Jibolaro", Countegany, near Cooma, to breed bulls for their own operation.
In total 130 of 140 bulls sold to average $6025.
