Related: Wodonga weaner sales – Day one
THE Wodonga annual weaner sales kicked off at the Barnawartha saleyards yesterday, with the Blue Ribbon Angus mixed-sex weaners sale, which will continue today.
Paul and Scollard livestock sales consultant Luke Deimel said he expected up to 8000 yardings during the two days.
“It’s been pretty wet down here, but I’d be very shocked if there were blokes who struggled getting their cattle to the sale,” Mr Deimel said.

STORIES
Strong prices at Wodonga
YEARLING Angus steers were at the forefront of the Corcoran Parker, Elders and Landmark annual weaner sale at Wodonga, Friday, January 8.
Because of the varied season across all of the large drawing area of the Wodonga markets, quality and weight varied. However, most of the cattle were of good quality for their weight and age.
Northern buyers dominate Wodonga sales
WEANER steer prices continue to sizzle on the second day of the annual sales at Wodonga.
Elders Wodonga agent Matt Tinkler said prices were on par with those yesterday, but the steers offered today were generally weighing heavier across a bigger supply of cattle.
