DORPER rams and ewes completely cleared at auction topping at $6000 during the 2016 Eastern Region Dorper and White Dorper sale at Dubbo today.
Fifty-nine Dorper rams averaged $1444 and six ewes averaged $750. Thirty-one of 35 White Dorper rams averaged $1139 while five of eight ewes averaged $540.
Top money was kept between the Pagett families when Ron and Sandy Pagett, Netanya Dorpers, Wee Waa, sold a type 4 Dorper ram weighing 96 kilograms at 23 months to Mr Pagett’s brother, Brian and families of Winrae stud, now based at Canowindra.
Second top money at $5400 was paid by Brenden Duncan, Glen Park stud and commercial Dorper and White Dorper enterprise at Glen Esk via Wentworth, for a Type 4 Dorper ram of 17 months weighing 96.5kg offered by the Gett family’s Whynot stud, Narrabri.
