NIALL Blair will be the state’s first primary industries minister to have a base at the Sydney Royal Show.
Mr Blair - who became ag minister almost a year ago - will have an office inside Spotless Stadium that will be manned by his ministerial staff throughout the show’s two weeks.
Mr Blair said while he would be required at Macquarie Street for parliament some days, he planned to attend as many show functions, meetings and events as possible.
“This state’s primary produce is among the best in the world and every year we have the opportunity to showcase regional NSW right in the heart of Sydney,” he said
“The only way you truly get a sense of how to deliver better outcomes for the state’s primary industries is to get your boots dirty.”
Mr Blair succeeded Nationals teammate Katrina Hodgkinson as NSW primary industries minister after the coalition election victory on March 31 last year.
