Demand for quality Limousin cattle was strong at the 2016 National Sale, last Friday which followed the National Show on Thursday.
Top price at $20,000 was paid for Garren Park Kandahar, the reserve senior champion bull bred by Garry and Karen Hedger, Garren Park Limousin stud, Culcairn, by Riviere Vue Limousins, Singleton.
The top priced female was Summit Cauliflower K34, bred by Hayden Green, Summit Limousin stud, Uranquinty, and purchased by Toebelle Limousins, Duns Creek, for $15,000.
In the genetic packages offered, six frozen embryos, flushed from Garren Park Razzamataz J17 by Greenwood PLD Zeppelin, offered by MT and MA Tynan, Birubi Limousin stud, Borambola, sold for $12,600 gross to Brinsley Pastoral Co, Freemans Reach.
Other significant bull sales included Warrawindi Black Diamond, the senior champion bull sold for $12,000, and Birubi Kaiser K140, the junior and grand champion bull sold for $8,000.
Leading female sales included Warrawindi Krystal Gem K15, the senior and grand champion female and also supreme exhibit sold for $14,000 and Shalone Paula L291, junior champion female, sold for $8,000.
Stud stock agents, Landmark and Elders, both from Albury conducted the auction in conjunction.
