DEPUTY Federal leader Barnaby Joyce has flagged increased water security through infrastructure in NSW at the annual National Party conference at Tweed Heads last weekend.
Already the Coalition has promised $150 million for Queensland dams should they win the Federal election.
Mr Joyce was particularly proud of last week’s promise of $130 million to be made available for the Rookwood Weir on the lower Fitzroy in Central Queensland.
At the same time the Federal Government funded the $250,000 revitalised weir at Bangalow for recreational purposes.
However Mr Joyce said more announcements would follow regarding small scale water infrastructure in NSW.
In saying that he noted the timely opening of the Chaffey Dam extension near Tamworth despite challenges surrounding the Booroolong frog.
