THE 57th Dectomax National Shorthorn Show and Sale at Dubbo produced much excitement for the large crowd of enthusiasts and exhibitors from three states.

Jessica Ashby, Bundaleer stud, Gulnare, South Australia, bid to the top of $8500 for TC Diamond Lacey (P) (AI) (Roan), on behalf of Brian Mann, Manaroo Shorthorns, Walbundrie. The 33 month-old heifer was bred by Claudia Nielsen, TC stud, Tamworth who is holding the heifer which had recently weaned her calf, TC Diamond Zealous, the third-top priced heifer of the sale selling at $6000 to Bede McAlpin, San Karoo stud, Pheasants Nest.

The $42,000 top-priced bull, 21 months-old Royalla Rembrandt K413 (P), weighing 878 kilograms and reserve Division 1 champion, was purchased by NSW and New Zealand interests. Pictured are buyers Greg Schuller, Outback stud, Culcairn, (who partnered the Sprys family, Sprys stud, Wagga Wagga, in the NSW purchase package) with Craig and Ken Morton, Morton Shorthorns, Kati Kati, NZ, who bought the NZ rights. The 26 months-old Bayview Unique K11 (P), sold for $30,000 to Australian and New Zealand interests.
