LESS than 20 kilometres from Murwillumbah lies a small property where fat cows spend their days grazing on rich kikuyu creek flats.
Called “Splendido”, the 39 hectare property at Crystal Creek is protected by rainforests and has expansive views of Mount Warning, Mount Cougal and Mount Springbrook.
According to its owners, Rodger and Pru Pitt, the property lives up to its name.
“It’s a unique property – it’s very quiet and tranquil,” Mrs Pitt said.
They moved to Crystal Creek from Brisbane fifteen years ago to breathe some fresh air.
They have spent their years at “Splendido” running 45 head of cattle and are now looking to downsize so they can travel the world.
The property has been run organically and is complete with quality fencing and cattle yards.
The area has an annual rainfall of 1604 millimetres and the property has double frontage to Quambatook Creek and extensive frontage to Crystal Creek on the eastern boundary.
Mrs Pitt, an interior designer by trade, has transformed the simple, brick three-bedroom home to a modern home complete with a pool.
The current owners also transformed the old three-bale dairy into a studio which could serve as accommodation or an office.
The Crystal Creek area is renowned for its beauty. Just down the road from “Splendido” lies an exclusive retreat called Crystal Creek Rainforest Resort.
“It’s such a peaceful area which is why the resort attracts visitors from all over the world. You can walk and cycle for miles out here – it’s very pleasant.”
“Splendido” will be auctioned by Ray White Queensland on July 22.
“It’s going to be hard to leave,” she said.
